“There are not many cities in America where you will ever see an authentic mandolin orchestra.
Only one is the oldest mandolin orchestra in the world and it’s based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.”

Upcoming Concerts - with the JZObw
The what?? The Youth Plucking Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg (JZObw) is a select orchestra from Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
It consists of up to 30 young musicians between the ages of 15 and 27, who are usually prizewinners of the "Jugend musiziert" competition or who have attracted attention during qualification courses.
The MMO met the JZO at the Venice Mandolin Festival in 2022 and are delighted to welcome them to Milwaukee for a series of interactions with local schools (the German Immersion School, Shorewood HS, and Nicolet HS), as well as two joint concerts with the MMO.
Celebrate with these wonderful musicians from Germany.
